Monir Uddin, of Brooklyn, New York, turned himself in to Connecticut State Police on Saturday, April 20, for the incident on Saturday, Jan. 13, in Litchfield at the Citgo gas station at 199 West Street.
Following an intensive investigation, an arrest warrant from the Connecticut State Police says Uddin sexually assaulted three juveniles behind the store in exchange for the goods.
According to the warrant, Uddin posed with the juveniles inside the store for a selfie before turning off the surveillance camera inside after they asked him if it were true he would give them vapes.
He then took the three outside the back door and positioned them so outside surveillance would not record them and sexually abused them, the warrant said.
After the abuse took place, the warrant says the juveniles then were given vapes and other goods before leaving the store. The rumors then spread among their friends about the abuse, and a group confronted Uddin, who allegedly cried.
Uddin, who is currently not working at the store but said he would be rehired after the "criminal" stuff was over, learned of the warrant for his arrest and turned himself in.
He was charged with:
- Commercial sexual abuse of a minor – 3 counts
- Illegal sexual contact of a minor – 3 counts
- Risk of injury to a child – 3 counts
- Sexual assault – 3 counts
- Unlawful restraint – 3 counts
- Illegal sale of tobacco to a minor – 3 counts
Uddin was held on a $85,000 court-set bond and transferred to the custody of the CT Department of Correction pending his arraignment.
